About the Role

Amazon Advertising is seeking an experienced professional to develop and implement demand forecasting and headcount planning tools and mechanisms at a global scale. This high-impact role directly influences the business's bottom line by driving improvements in cost and quality of advertising operations through accurate forecasts.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and communicate Long Range and Short Range forecasts for business-oriented KPIs.
  • Produce strategical staffing plans, including hiring plans and site strategy models.
  • Design, build, and implement innovative forecasting and planning tools and mechanisms.
  • Build and maintain KPIs that reliably reflect forecasting accuracy and downstream business impact.
  • Create new reporting & analytic opportunities by analyzing and understanding key planning processes.
  • Provide thought leadership on the integration of new products/services supported by Advertising.
  • Write and present documents up to the VP level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Engineering/Economics
  • 5+ years of demand planning and forecasting experience
  • Lean-Six Sigma Black Belt certification

  • Modeling forecasting problems leveraging advanced statistical models
  • Discovering insights and identifying opportunities through statistical, machine learning, algorithmic, data mining and visualization techniques
  • Collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Analyzing forecast variances
  • Understanding and mitigating variance drivers
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
  • Deriving strategical staffing plans
  • Applying a breadth of tools, data sources and analytical techniques

  • Communicating insights to non-technical audiences
