About the Role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a bilingual (English/French) Solutions Architect to join the Agentic WorkSpaces team in Toronto, Canada. This role requires a professional operating at the intersection of enterprise desktop infrastructure and applied AI—with a primary, clearly defined depth in Agentic WorkSpaces platform architecture (60%), complemented by advisory-level proficiency in applied AI and Large Language Model (LLM) deployment patterns (40%). The primary mandate is mastery of the Agentic WorkSpaces platform. You will architect, deploy, and optimize Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solutions using Amazon WorkSpaces Personal and Core, as well as Amazon WorkSpaces Applications (formerly AppStream 2.0). The secondary mandate is applied AI consulting. You will guide customers through the agentic AI capabilities integrated into Agentic WorkSpaces.

Responsibilities

Lead technical discovery sessions with public sector and enterprise clients to assess existing IT infrastructure, identify migration paths, and define production deployment architectures for Amazon WorkSpaces and Amazon WorkSpaces Applications.
Design end-to-end Agentic WorkSpaces architectures covering VPC/network topology, Active Directory federation or AWS Managed Microsoft AD, multi-region resilience, image lifecycle management, and protocol optimization for latency-sensitive workloads.
Lead Technical Validation (TechVal) engagements—defining success criteria, executing structured test plans, validating performance under production-like conditions, and producing outcome reports with clear go/no-go recommendations.
Design migrations from existing VDI platforms to Agentic WorkSpaces, including application compatibility assessment, user profile migration, and validation of print and peripheral redirection.
Ensure production readiness: capacity planning, monitoring and alerting configuration, patch management cadence, cost optimization, and development of operational runbooks.
Build deep relationships with senior technical stakeholders within client organizations—positioning yourself as the trusted advisor they consult before making infrastructure decisions.
Deliver in-person and remote knowledge transfer sessions to transfer Agentic WorkSpaces operational knowledge to client teams.
Guide clients through the capabilities of agentic AI within Agentic WorkSpaces—including AI agent creation, model selection via Amazon Bedrock, prompt configuration, guardrail setup, and tool/action integration.
Evaluate foundation model performance for workspace-specific use cases, balancing latency, accuracy, cost, and compliance requirements.
Design and deploy Model Context Protocol (MCP) server configurations that expose client tools, APIs, and data sources in a standardized format for dynamic discovery and agent tool invocation.
Design Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication models enabling multi-agent orchestration across enterprise systems.
Create and advise on agent evaluation frameworks—defining metrics, establishing baselines, and executing structured evaluations against production workloads.
Conduct data readiness assessments: evaluate client data landscapes, identify gaps, and recommend remediation strategies to ensure AI agents have reliable access to information.
Advise on LLM deployment patterns, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning decision frameworks, knowledge base configuration, vector database selection, and chunking/embedding strategies.
Create reusable artifacts—reference architectures, implementation guides, sample configurations, prompt libraries, and data readiness checklists—that scale best practices across the SA community and the partner ecosystem.
Provide structured product feedback to the Agentic WorkSpaces and Amazon Bedrock service teams based on real-world customer implementations, directly contributing to roadmap prioritization.
Act as a technical liaison between customers, partners, service engineering teams, and support—ensuring the voice of the customer reaches product leadership with accuracy and urgency.
Author or contribute to publications for AWS customers—such as white papers, blog posts, technical guides, and case studies—that demonstrate Canadian customers' success with Agentic WorkSpaces.

Requirements

5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
8+ years of hands-on experience with VDI and DaaS solutions — preferably Amazon WorkSpaces, AppStream 2.0, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or VMware/Omnissa Horizon. You must demonstrate production-level depth: deployment architecture, image management, directory integration, networking, and operational troubleshooting.
Demonstrated understanding of agentic AI patterns at Level 200+ depth: foundation model capabilities, prompt engineering principles, tool use/function calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and autonomous agent workflows.
Experience serving enterprise or public sector customers in Canada, with demonstrated ability to navigate procurement, compliance, and regulatory requirements (GC Cloud, PBMM, PIPEDA, provincial privacy legislation).
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, PowerShell, or Node.js) for building integrations, automation, and proof-of-concept implementations.
Willingness to travel up to 25% - 50% for on-site customer engagements across Canada.
Bilingualism in French and English (oral and written communication) is required due to regular interactions with French-speaking stakeholders in Canada and within Amazon entities internationally.
