As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will support a welcoming environment through professional communication, customer service, and teamwork. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at public transit locations.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, adjacent areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel.
- Maintain possession and proper handling of assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of observations, incidents, and actions taken, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and designated transit personnel.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Law Enforcement Officer License.
- An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
