About the Role

Serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will help create a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff while reporting concerns and responding to situations with professionalism.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and partners at a shelter location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, grounds, and perimeter, to help identify and report security-related concerns.
Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and report unauthorized access, disturbances, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and documenting events as required.
Assist with maintaining an orderly, welcoming environment by providing directions, communicating professionally, and supporting staff during resident and visitor interactions.

Requirements

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
