About the Role
The Academic Advisor serves as a member of the first-year advising team, helping students articulate academic goals and develop educational plans. This role involves advising approximately 150 undergraduate students, facilitating individual and group sessions, and collaborating with departmental advisors and university offices to enhance student retention. The advisor will also assist with student hiring, training, and supervision.
Responsibilities
- Advise approximately 150 undergraduate students on a wide range of academic issues.
- Facilitate individual and group advising sessions throughout the academic year.
- Work with departmental advisors and other university offices to increase student retention.
- Assist with the hiring, training, and supervision of students.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Student Personnel Development, Education, or a related field.
- 2+ years of related experience in an educational setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Customer-service skills
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft is a plus
- Knowledge of Student Development theories is a plus
- Ability to work as an integral member of a team is critical
- Experience working with databases

- USD $77,000 to USD $84,700
