About the Role
The Workforce Reintegration Advisor implements and ensures Airport processes are maintained regarding attendance programs. This role also manages cases related to the rehabilitation of UNIFOR and IAMAW employees, requiring strong relationships with various internal branches and partners.
Responsibilities
- Manages, monitors, and coordinates activities and processes for attendance and case management.
- Assumes local leadership in implementing attendance programs and processes.
- Fosters a culture of accountability for front-line employees.
- Promotes healthy and productive workforce initiatives.
- Leads, motivates, and coaches employees on performance.
- Reviews daily absenteeism reporting.
- Resolves attendance and accommodation issues using a results-oriented approach.
- Identifies employees over corporate attendance thresholds and engages in dialogue to reduce absenteeism.
- Proactively manages WCB and GDIP employee files for safe reintegration.
- Evaluates abilities and provides appropriate accommodations and work hardening programs.
- Reviews employee case files, highlighting needs to contest or negotiate with Labour Relations.
- Reports and analyzes data to reduce illness/injury and improve attendance.
- Continuously improves processes and procedures.
- Fosters strong relations with partnering branches.
- Commits to improving skills in employee wellness, emotional intelligence, mental health awareness, diversity, and inclusion.
- Commits to learning and staying current with HR policy, Collective Agreements, and relevant legislation.
- Maintains accurate reporting and data entry.
- Substantiates employee files with medical information and ensures proper processing and documentation.
- Attends arbitrations as a witness when required.
Requirements
- Possess at least a high school diploma.
- Airline experience, with knowledge of Airport Operations.
- Knowledge of collective agreements and managing a unionized workforce.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of WCB, CNESST policy and guidelines.
- Resilient and adaptable leader.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks, prioritizing, and making effective decisions.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases.
- Strong Leadership and Managerial Courage skills.
- Available to work a flexible work schedule including days, evenings, statutory holidays, weekends, and overnight shifts.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest.
- Candidates are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations.
- Candidates will need to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the country of interest prior to their start date.
