About the Role
The Shift Manager Surveillance is responsible for managing employees and daily tasks within specific shifts of the surveillance department to ensure compliance and protect company assets. This role also involves maintaining and submitting accurate surveillance reports during assigned shifts.
Responsibilities
- Creates schedules to meet staffing objectives and coverage requirements.
- Achieves daily operations and department goals.
- Ensures employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Conducts, supervises, and prepares incident reports.
- Advises and implements changes from the director.
- Ensures effective personnel management, including recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching, and counseling.
- Facilitates and ensures timely completion of employee performance reviews.
- Coordinates daily surveillance activities for gaming, simulcast, and cash-handling areas, including video taping of count room operations.
- Maintains records of department activities and submits reports during shifts.
- Reviews tapes related to all operational aspects.
- Reports gaming regulation violations to the Surveillance Director.
- Performs player evaluations and enhances knowledge of surveillance operations.
- Participates in court actions related to gaming violations.
- Implements approved policies and procedures.
- Protects company assets.
- Performs other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Ability to remain organized under pressure.
- Ability to input and access computer information.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff.
- Problem-solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of and enforcement of all gaming laws and regulations.
- Must have computer knowledge.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate license through the New York State Gaming Commission.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries.
- Fluency in English required.
- Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to decipher and maintain reports.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands.
- Occasionally required to reach, sit, climb, balance, stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Moderate physical ability to lift or maneuver at least fifty (50) pounds.
- Prolonged sitting during the shift.
- Must be able to handle intoxicated guests professionally.
- Must be able to work varying schedules.
