About the Role
Vintage is seeking a Publicist to manage media campaigns for a diverse range of fiction and nonfiction titles, including new releases and backlist classics. This role involves launching new books and finding innovative ways to reintroduce established works to contemporary audiences.
Responsibilities
- Execute media campaigns for titles across various genres, securing national, regional, and niche media placements (radio, TV, print, online, newsletters, podcasts).
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with media professionals, event coordinators, festival organizers, and booksellers.
- Plan and execute author tours, including managing travel and detailed schedules.
- Accompany authors to local NYC-based interviews and events.
- Communicate with and build partnerships with literary agents, providing high-touch author care.
- Create persuasive press materials such as press releases, pitch letters, author Q&As, and story ideas.
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and sales teams on campaign execution.
- Identify new media opportunities and brainstorm creative angles for book promotion.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-4 years of publicity experience in a publishing environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Capacity to meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to independently manage campaign budgets.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
