About the Role
Join an established nursery group with over 20 years of experience in early years childcare. This role involves leading the Over 2s room at their Islington nursery, managing a small team, and shaping the daily experience for children aged 2+. The setting offers a modern yet homely environment with a child-led curriculum focused on curiosity and independence. This is an opportunity to make a visible difference, supported by caring leadership with plans for growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the Over 2 room, setting the standard for good practice and being a positive role model.
- Prioritize children's safety and wellbeing to ensure they have the best experience daily.
- Plan and lead activities in line with the EYFS framework, following children's interests.
- Take ownership of observations, assessments, and planning for key children, meeting individual needs.
- Support colleagues in completing planning, milestones, and observations to a high standard.
- Build trusting relationships with parents and carers, supporting families with SEND needs.
Requirements
- A full and relevant Level 3 (or above) early years qualification.
- Solid experience caring for early years children, ideally including those aged 2+.
- A real passion for child development.
- In-depth understanding of the EYFS framework and its practical application through play.
- Detailed knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills.
- A genuine belief in the positive impact of quality nursery provision.
