About the Role

We are looking for you as a Senior Manager Technical Operations (Site Manager) (m/w/d) to make an important contribution to climate neutrality with us at thermondo. With your interest in renewable energies and your identification with our values, you create real added value for all of us.

Responsibilities

Establish planning and installation standard B2B/MFH: Develop, document, and continuously improve a binding technical standard for heat pump projects in existing multi-family buildings.
Technical site supervision: Review and approve planning and offers from installation partners, on-site kick-off, regular site visits and quality controls, clarification of technical questions and changes during construction.
Oversee acceptance and commissioning: Conduct and document interim and final acceptances, including commissioning, hydraulic balancing, regulation, and function testing.
Build scalable operations processes: Define and implement the end-to-end process from technical pre-prüfung to service handover.
Qualify partners and ensure quality: Technical onboarding, training, and auditing of installation partners to the thermondo standard.
Support technical sales and offers: On-site inspections, technical feasibility checks, and concept selection.
Lessons Learned and continuous improvement: Systematically evaluate completed projects regarding costs, time, quality, and operational disruptions.
Monitor relevant standards, technology, and funding initiatives such as GEG, BEG, VDI 4645, DIN EN 12831, and DVGW W 551 and implement them in the standard.

Requirements

Completed degree, e.g., B.Eng., M.Eng., or Dipl.-Ing., in building services engineering, building and energy technology, technical building equipment, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field. Alternatively, you have an SHK master craftsman qualification or a state-certified technician qualification in HVAC with demonstrable planning and site management experience.
At least five years of professional experience in the planning and/or execution of heating or heat pump systems, including at least two years with project, site management, or acceptance responsibility.
Experience with multi-family buildings or larger performance classes over 30 kW and cascades is required.
Experience in establishing standards and processes is advantageous.
Technical depth heat pump in existing multi-family buildings: Heat load calculation, hydraulics with cascades, buffer storage tanks, and hydraulic balancing, domestic hot water concepts with DVGW W 551 and legionella protection, electrical and mains connection, and sound insulation.
Proficiently handle GEG, VDI 4645, DIN EN 12831, and the technical BEG requirements.
Site management and acceptance competence: Confident site inspections, quality controls, formal acceptances, and defect management according to VOB/B.
Make clear and documented technical decisions, even under time pressure.
Process and structural thinking: Derive repeatable standards, checklists, and processes from individual projects and anchor them scalably across external partners and multiple regions.
Work in a KPI-oriented and data-driven manner.
Communication and assertiveness: Communicate confidently with trade partners, housing industry clients, builders, specialist planners, and network operators.
Experience in managing external subcontractors while working at eye level, bindingly, and solution-oriented.
Hands-on and build-up mentality: High personal responsibility, pragmatic solution orientation, and a drive to shape things in a young venture.
Work equally on the construction site and at the desk, and write standards yourself instead of just demanding them.
Application knowledge: Confident use of MS Office and Google Workspace.
Experience with heat load and design software, e.g., Hottgenroth/ETU or manufacturer tools from Vaillant, Viessmann, and Daikin.
Basic CAD and hydraulic schematic knowledge, e.g., AutoCAD or Revit, is advantageous.
Knowledge of CRM systems such as Salesforce or Pipedrive, digital site documentation and acceptance tools, and funding portals such as BEG, KfW, or BAFA is desirable.
Further requirements: Willingness to travel approx. 30% to construction sites nationwide, including Southern Germany as well as Berlin and Brandenburg.
Driver's license class B.
