About the Role
This position works on a clinical operations team providing clinical support to our providers while ensuring our patients have a safe and positive experience.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clinical leadership to ensure smooth patient flow in the operational areas.
- Perform clinical duties in all areas including Express, Cast Room, and pods.
- Perform clinical duties such as the application and removal of casts, sutures, staples, braces.
- Perform wound care and deliver patient education.
- Respond to triages as needed or assigned in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Room patients, take vitals and history, update electronic medical chart as needed.
- Update and maintain patient medical records, including visit details, insurance and contact information.
- Service patient after visit with appropriate paperwork, schedule follow-up appointment, send out medical records as requested, and answer any patient inquiries.
- Maintain exam rooms to appropriate regulatory standards.
- Audit new patient charts.
- Work as a team to replenish exam room and clinical supplies, including office supplies for designated area.
- Train others as needed or directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- Valid NYS LPN License or ATC BOC certification.
- 2+ years experience in high volume medical office rooming patients preferred, but not required.
- Experience in wound care, casting highly preferred.
- EMR knowledge required, MEDENT preferred.
- Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with patients, providers, and staff.
- Frequent reaching, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Extensive standing and walking required.
- Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Position requires full range of body motion including ability to position and move patients.
- Work environment may involve some exposure to hazards/physical risk.
