About the Role
You will ensure our vehicles are operational by scheduling maintenance, managing repair shops and vendors, directing Fleet Specialists, and tracking vehicle downtime and reasons. This is a hands-on role requiring time spent in the lot and shop, as well as at a screen.
Responsibilities
- Own the preventive maintenance schedule for your market.
- Coordinate repairs and track every vehicle until it's back in service.
- Manage outside shops and vendors, from scheduling through invoice review.
- Direct the day-to-day work of the Fleet Specialist team.
- Track downtime and cost per vehicle, and keep maintenance records and inspections current.
- Take unsafe vehicles out of service and escalate safety issues right away.
Requirements
- 3+ years in fleet, automotive or vehicle maintenance (shop, dealership service, rental, delivery or transit fleet).
- Working knowledge of vehicle systems and experience managing vendors.
- Comfort with fleet software (Fleetio, Samsara, ServiceUp).
- Availability for a 24-hour operation, including some nights, weekends and on-call.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
