About the Role

As an HR Operations Generalist, you will join the EMEA People Enablement team, supporting Europe, Middle East, and Africa with a focus on Germany, Finland, and the Netherlands. You will provide front-line HR support to employees and People Leaders, collaborating with cross-functional HR teams and utilizing the myHR Help Desk (Oracle HCM) for inquiries and operational needs. Your core focus will be on day-to-day operational responsibilities, HR process documentation, and process improvements, including managing HRIS implementation and process optimization through automation. This role is a 1-year fixed-term contract as maternity cover.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality HR administrative support for the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, absence & leave management, and contract administration.
  • Manage employee data input and adjustments in HR systems for payroll processing.
  • Establish processes and automations to enhance operational efficiency and reliability in employee support.
  • Manage benefits administration and payroll change processing for responsible countries.
  • Partner with global Total Rewards and Payroll/Accounting teams for timely and accurate processing.
  • Facilitate the deployment of global policies and ensure adherence within People processes and administration.
  • Ensure country compliance with local employment laws, conducting proactive research and planning for changes.
  • Work with internal teams, including Legal and Payroll/Accounting, to implement changes and improvements.
  • Execute employee relations investigations and issue corrective actions.
  • Facilitate and advise People Leaders on Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Manage local illness procedures and administration, supporting employees and People Leaders in long-term sick leave cases.
  • Ensure HR processes are defined, documented, and adhered to with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Proactively review and improve processes for alignment, efficiency, and cost-optimization.

Requirements

  • Solid HR foundation in Germany with a strong understanding of HR principles and technology.
  • Ability to work independently in managing standard employment conditions and administration.
  • Ability to navigate operational ambiguity to identify compliant and efficient execution paths.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an HR shared services environment serving the EMEA region, with emphasis on HR operational support.
  • Experience supporting employees based in Germany.
  • Experience supporting employees in at least one of the following: the Netherlands, Poland, Finland, Spain, and Italy is a bonus.
  • In-depth knowledge of EMEA HR operations, labor laws, and best practices for Germany, including employment agreements, employment procedures, illness management, and employee relations.
  • Proficient in Tier 0, 1, and 2 level HR support.
  • Well-rounded proficiency in HR services, HRIS, policies, and processes, such as payroll administration, onboarding, and audit procedures.
  • Structured way of working with a rigorous and detailed oriented approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, ability to analyze situations, apply critical thinking, and develop/implement solutions.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations and proactive in seeking information or support.
  • Proficient with Excel, HRIS/HRM systems, and HR tech solutions (OracleHCM, Microsoft Copilot for HR, and/or Jira are a plus).
  • Fluent in both English (C1) and German (C1), written and verbal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process including employment, education, and criminal verification if applicable.
