About the Role
Quality Inspector role focused on ensuring custom rubber products meet specifications. This hands-on position offers opportunities to develop practical experience in quality control, manufacturing, precision measurement, engineering drawings, and problem-solving while working closely with an experienced team.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical and engineering drawings to determine product specifications and quality requirements.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of custom rubber products.
- Use precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Learn and apply company-specific inspection methods, procedures, and quality standards.
- Work with management and engineering to identify quality concerns and help develop effective inspection criteria.
- Review inspection and statistical data to monitor product quality and consistency.
- Document inspection results and identify products that do not meet established requirements.
- Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions when quality issues arise.
- Review and validate quality data and flag deviations from established standards.
- Maintain accurate inspection, testing, and quality records.
- Communicate quality concerns clearly and work collaboratively with the team to resolve them.
- Look for opportunities to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency as experience is gained.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and engineering drawings.
- Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
- Willingness to learn company products, processes, and quality standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity to operate inspection and measurement equipment.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment around noise, machinery, and rubber materials.
