About the Role

The Sr Specialist within RPS Retirement Ops is responsible for providing oversight over high volume processing of complex disbursements and distributions, researching historical activity, managing relationships with internal business partners, and ensuring absolute compliance with all regulatory requirements of ERISA Law. The goal of Retirement Operations is to meet the needs of Schwab Retirement Plan Services (RPS) by providing the best client service possible as it relates to the recordkeeping aspects of Defined Contribution Retirement Plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of high volumes of distributions and handle complex research inquiries related to those distributions.
  • Respond to internal partner inquiries.
  • Maintain quality control and procedures.
  • Create process improvements.
  • Mitigate risk.
  • Train new employees.
  • Perform large dollar review.
  • Streamline workflows to meet key deliverables and exceed client expectations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and extreme attention to detail.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience working in Qualified Retirement Plan Administration
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, daily-deadline-driven environment

  • In-depth knowledge of regulations and plan design which governs processes such as participant directed distributions
  • Ability to interpret client and participant needs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications & Microsoft Copilot
