About the Role

Shape the infrastructure that supports the next generation of nuclear facilities. We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to support the design and delivery of critical infrastructure for nuclear projects across the UK and internationally. This role focuses on designing the physical structures and infrastructure that enable nuclear facilities to operate safely, including reinforced concrete structures, steel-framed buildings, foundations, equipment support structures, seismic-resistant systems and safety-related facilities. You will work as part of multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering solutions for nuclear new-build, plant improvement and infrastructure modification projects.

Responsibilities

Leading the structural design of nuclear and safety-critical facilities.
Developing structural engineering concepts from feasibility through detailed design.
Delivering reinforced concrete and structural steel designs for buildings, plant structures and supporting infrastructure.
Producing structural calculations, design reports, specifications and technical documentation.
Supporting the design of foundations, equipment supports, platforms, access structures and containment-related infrastructure.
Reviewing and assuring technical outputs to ensure quality and compliance.
Coordinating closely with mechanical, civil, electrical and instrumentation engineering teams.
Supporting design reviews, constructability assessments and engineering assurance activities.
Managing engineering deliverables in line with project schedules, budgets and quality requirements.
Providing mentoring and technical guidance to developing engineers.
Interfacing directly with clients, project teams, contractors and stakeholders.

Requirements

Must have the legal right to work within the United Kingdom.
Demonstrable structural design capability for complex facilities or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of engineering design assurance and quality processes.
Experience preparing technical reports, calculations and specifications.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
