About the Role
Teach 2D Animation courses to workforce and transfer students, guiding them to produce portfolio-worthy work. This role emphasizes engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate instruction that reflects a commitment to success equity and culturally responsive teaching.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach 2D Animation courses to a diverse student population.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to community college students and discipline standards.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback.
- Provide teaching and mentoring services without discrimination.
- Remain current in the field through professional development.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by department leadership.
- Instruct students in 2D Animation courses in accordance with College policies and procedures.
- Teach introductory and advanced classes in 2D Animation.
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications (Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Pro, Toon Boom Harmony and Storyboard Pro).
- Demonstrated proficiency using online resources and other technologies for the classroom.
- Demonstrated proficiency using an online learning management system such as Blackboard.
- Appropriate use of the college's learning management system.
- Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission of final course grades.
- Participate in graduation, general assembly, and other official college functions.
- Maintain regular office hours to assist students.
- Attend and participate in collegewide, campus, department, or other activities and meetings.
- Recognize and reflect standards of civility and collegiality.
- Comply with published college policies and procedures.
- Meet professional standards for teaching in a community college.
- Upload unofficial/copy of transcripts, updated Curriculum Vitae (C.V.) or Résumé, and cover letter.

- Employees are required to maintain a domicile in the State of Texas while working for the college.

- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in 2D Animation, Concept Design or Character Design with strong emphasis in 2D Animation or Fine Art Studio Art.
