About the Role
Arlo Hotels is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Sales & Marketing to set brand-wide sales strategy, develop the sales & marketing team, and cultivate key accounts to drive financial and customer metrics.
Responsibilities
- Strategize and establish brand-wide sales and marketing goals, budget preparation, and marketing plan.
- Develop expert knowledge of product positioning, seasonality, pricing, and competitive advantages.
- Provide high-level leadership to sales team members across segments to achieve objectives and revenues.
- Coach, mentor, and develop sales leaders into senior talent.
- Provide customer intelligence on market and economic trends to adjust sales strategy.
- Manage the development of strategic action plans for market demand generators.
- Meet or exceed annual sales revenue goals and sales activity production guidelines.
- Continuously evaluate involvement in sales distribution channels and market hotels accordingly.
- Partner with Revenue Management on pricing, yield, and mix-of-business strategy to optimize revenue.
- Report on marketing plan progress, results, key metrics, conversion, and ROI data.
- Manage the marketing budget for property-specific campaigns, promotions, and collateral.
- Develop strategic alliances and partnerships to support marketing initiatives.
- Increase market share through hotel-specific promotions using CRM and traditional marketing.
- Provide input into the creation of area marketing calendars and media plans.
- Develop and execute trade marketing programs for corporate, consortia, and group buyers.
- Manage consortia program participation and activation, including strategy, offers, and ROI tracking.
- Own the group marketing program, including collateral, offers, FAM trips, and planner content.
- Drive corporate account marketing, including RFP response strategy and account-based marketing.
- Plan and lead brand presence at key industry trade shows to generate leads and engagement.
- Produce effective structures, processes, and performance management systems.
- Set goals and expectations for direct reports, manage performance, and ensure accountability.
- Provide leadership to drive sales team productivity and performance.
- Comply with company sales reporting standards using Opera Sales & Catering and other systems.
- Prepare pre-trip and post-trip reporting for travel and tradeshow activities.
- Guide and participate in monthly sales department and revenue strategy meetings.
- Develop, implement, and execute sales strategies through quarterly action plans.
- Personally own and grow relationships with strategic group, corporate, and consortia accounts.
- Maintain positive relations and high visibility in relative business organizations.
- Partner with People Services to attract, develop, and retain talent.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in sales leadership, including strategic sales and/or brand development.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and an active book of customer contacts across group, corporate, and consortia segments; luxury leisure relationships strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of developing and executing sales and marketing objectives and strategies; preferred experience with online marketing, advertising, and finance/budget planning and management.
- Proven ability to recruit, motivate, train, retain, and develop a high-performing management and sales team.
- Demonstrated track record of mentoring and advancing earlier-career sales leaders into senior roles.
- Intellectual and analytical curiosity.
- Advanced computer skills, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and Opera.
- Experience managing/marketing luxury or lifestyle brands, ideally across a multi-property or multi-market portfolio.
- Strong financial planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet and work effectively under time and resource constraints.
- Knowledge of the travel industry, current market trends, and economic factors.
- Skill in development and delivery of sales presentations.
- Ability to deal with internal and external customers and staff, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
