About the Role

As Director of Sales and Marketing Technology, you will define and execute Hyve's technology strategy for customer acquisition, marketing engagement, and commercial growth. You will own the platforms and capabilities used by Sales, Marketing, and Digital teams across Hyve's global portfolio of approximately 20 event brands. Reporting to the CTO, you will provide senior leadership for a complex estate including event websites, multiple instances of Microsoft Dynamics 365, HubSpot, and an increasing adoption of Salesforce, along with their integrations, data flows, and supporting products. You will lead a team of approximately 12 people.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own Hyve's enterprise Sales and Marketing Technology strategy, aligned with commercial growth, customer experience, and the wider Technology strategy.
  • Create and maintain a multi-year roadmap across CRM, MarTech, event websites, customer engagement, lead management, and supporting integrations.
  • Translate business strategy into a focused portfolio of technology investments, platform improvements, and change initiatives with clear outcomes and measures of value.
  • Establish target operating models and governance that work across Hyve's portfolio of event businesses while allowing justified variation by business and event archetype.
  • Develop investment cases and provide transparent executive reporting on delivery, adoption, cost, risk, and benefits.
  • Provide senior leadership and end-to-end ownership of all Hyve Sales and Marketing platforms and their supporting services.
  • Own the strategic direction, lifecycle, service performance, security, adoption, and commercial value of event websites and various CRM platforms and associated products.
  • Create a clear platform strategy for Hyve's portfolio of event brands, reducing unnecessary duplication, defining standards, ownership boundaries, service expectations, and retirement plans across the estate.
  • Ensure product roadmaps remain aligned to customer journeys, sales effectiveness, marketing performance, and business priorities.
  • Provide executive ownership for the transformation of Hyve's CRM landscape, including the transition from fragmented Dynamics 365 instances towards Salesforce (the Ignition programme).
  • Maintain clear accountability for programme outcomes, scope, investment, governance, executive engagement, business readiness, benefits realisation, and transition into sustainable operation.
  • Define plans for coexistence, migration, and decommissioning across Salesforce, Dynamics 365, and HubSpot, avoiding uncontrolled platform proliferation.
  • Drive adoption through clear process ownership, data readiness, training, change management, and strong partnership with Commercial and Finance leaders.
  • Own the technology strategy and platform roadmap for the event websites serving Hyve's portfolio of approximately 20 brands.
  • Partner with Marketing, Digital Experience, and Event Technology to create consistent, high-performing journeys from awareness and content discovery through registration, participation, and post-event engagement.
  • Ensure website platforms support brand needs, content operations, SEO, accessibility, analytics, personalisation, conversion optimisation, and reliable integration with CRM, MarTech, and Event Technology.
  • Define reusable patterns, components, and governance that improve speed to market and reduce duplicated development and support effort.
  • Maintain appropriate oversight of website delivery, releases, reliability, performance, security, and technical debt.
  • Own Hyve's marketing technology strategy, with HubSpot as a core marketing platform and clear governance for its use across brands and regions.
  • Ensure effective platform administration, data quality, permissions, automation, integrations, release management, and user support.
  • Develop capabilities for segmentation, lead capture, lead enrichment, scoring, nurture, campaign execution, attribution, and sales hand-off.
  • Govern the introduction and use of adjacent tools such as Apollo and Clay, ensuring they complement rather than fragment the core platform strategy.
  • Ensure customer communication preferences and opt-outs are applied consistently across platforms and that marketing processes meet privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Marketing and Data & AI to improve campaign insight, customer understanding, and measurable return on marketing investment.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architect to define target architectures, standards, and transition roadmaps for Sales and Marketing Technology.
  • Ensure CRM, MarTech, websites, Event Technology, finance, and enterprise data platforms operate as a connected ecosystem supported by well-governed APIs and integration patterns.
  • Partner with the Director of Data & AI to embed Hyve's standard semantic data model and authoritative definitions for customers, accounts, contacts, events, products, pipeline, campaigns, and revenue.
  • Improve identity resolution, data quality, lineage, and ownership across customer and commercial platforms.
  • Ensure architecture decisions balance strategic fit, customer value, security, resilience, cost, implementation effort, and speed of delivery.
  • Maintain executive accountability for delivery of the Sales and Marketing Technology roadmap and for reliable operation of the live platform estate.
  • Establish effective portfolio governance, prioritisation, resource planning, financial management, release and change governance, risk management, and executive reporting.
  • Ensure BAU activities in platform administration, configuration, and support are responsive to the needs of users.
  • Establish clear service ownership, incident and problem management, operational readiness, and support arrangements for business-critical platforms.
  • Define and track measures for delivery performance, service reliability, user adoption, customer experience, and business value.
  • Own budgets, forecasts, and commercial performance across the Sales and Marketing Technology portfolio.
  • Develop strategic relationships with Microsoft, Salesforce, HubSpot, and key implementation, digital, and software engineering partners.
  • Influence supplier roadmaps, manage performance, and ensure partners deliver against Hyve's strategic and operational objectives.
  • Lead or support procurement, contract negotiation, licensing optimisation, and partner selection, ensuring strong value and appropriate commercial protection.
  • Maintain a clear view of total cost of ownership and actively reduce avoidable licence, support, integration, and technical-debt costs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 12 people spanning technology delivery, solution architecture, CRM management and administration, HubSpot administration, and software engineering.
  • Provide clear accountability and effective ways of working across the team and interactions with other technology functions, such as Event Tech teams and Cyber and Tech Ops.
  • Build capability through recruitment, performance management, succession planning, mentoring, and targeted professional development.
  • Create a culture of customer focus, commercial awareness, technical excellence, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent Sales and Marketing Technology within the Technology Leadership Team and relevant Executive governance forums.

Requirements

  • Extensive senior leadership experience across Sales Technology, Marketing Technology, CRM, or comparable functions, including leading multidisciplinary teams spanning delivery, architecture, platform administration, and software engineering.
  • Strong track record of defining and executing enterprise CRM, MarTech, and digital platform strategies, roadmaps, operating models, and transformation programmes.
  • Deep practical knowledge of at least two of Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and HubSpot, together with relevant experience of lead enrichment, prospecting, email sequencing, and campaign-management platforms such as Clay and Apollo.io.
  • Demonstrable experience implementing Salesforce and consolidating or migrating multiple CRM instances, including coexistence, data migration, integration, adoption, and legacy decommissioning.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end B2B sales and marketing processes, including account and opportunity management, multi-product selling, pipeline, forecasting, segmentation, automation, lead management, consent, attribution, and campaign performance.
  • Experience owning multi-brand customer-facing websites, digital journeys, and enterprise content-management platforms such as Xperience by Kentico or comparable products.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, APIs, integration patterns, identity, data models, security, privacy, and governance across complex SaaS ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to rationalise fragmented technology estates, reduce duplication and technical debt, and establish effective product, portfolio, release, change, and service-management governance.
  • Strong commercial and supplier-management capability, including budgeting, forecasting, licensing optimisation, investment cases, benefits realisation, contract negotiation, and management of systems integrators and strategic technology partners.
  • Experience operating in a private-equity-backed, international, and acquisitive organisation, including supporting value-creation plans, M&A due diligence, integration, and platform consolidation.
  • Leadership and executive communication skills to influence at Board level.
