About the Role
Amsted Automotive in London, Ontario is seeking a Press Operator to operate all production and related equipment, consistently meeting quality, safety, and production expectations. This role involves working day, afternoon, and midnight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Operate the stamping press coil feeder and automated transfer operation
- Perform tooling setup and machine changeovers
- Pack and label the product
- Conduct preventative maintenance on press and scrap systems as scheduled
- Measure parts using CMM and gauging as required
- Visually inspect parts for quality and report non-conformances
- Oversee load set and transfer system for smooth production flow and early issue detection
- Receive and store steel coils
- Prepare and communicate various reports
- Report safety hazards and conduct pre-start inspections
- Promote the company’s operational visions, values, goals and behaviors
- Participate in company programs including G&O, 5S, Kaizen, meetings, and training
- Conduct all work activities in a manner supportive of team effort
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations
- Participate in the company’s health, safety, environmental, and operational programs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Completion of high school
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant work experience
- Experience in die set up preferred
- Forklift License required
- Overhead Crane License required
- Experience in automotive, press stamping and/or manufacturing environment
- Passion for mechanics and openness to learn
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation needed
- Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping, and performing repetitive motion tasks
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Wear personal protective equipment as prescribed
