About the Role

This position will support key accounting functions with a focus on ASC 606 revenue recognition, SEC reporting, and complex reconciliation. This role will play a critical part in preparing accurate financial statements and ensuring compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of core accounting processes
  • Provide guidance to junior team members, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements and ensure timely, accurate reporting
  • Prepare and review complex monthly journal entries, including those related to deferred revenue, leases, and other technical areas
  • Perform and oversee account reconciliation and analysis for key balance sheet accounts such as accounts receivable, restricted cash, deferred revenue, inventory, and lease accounting
  • Review and assess customer invoicing for proper sales tax application and manage the related accounting for accrued sales tax
  • Review and reconcile inventory accounts, conduct audits when necessary, and review/update components costs
  • Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with the AR team to support collections, aging analysis, and customer communications
  • Work with plant controller on cash flow forecasting
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger subsidiary records, including accounts receivable ledgers and external lease software systems
  • Prepare detailed audit schedules for both quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Respond to auditor inquiries as needed
  • Support the company’s SOX compliance by preparing schedules and ensuring proper documentation of key controls
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to junior accounting staff; assist in training and reviewing their work when appropriate
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and take the lead on ad hoc projects and analyses to support the finance team’s goals
  • Other tasks as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3-5 years relevant accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and ASC 842
  • CPA or CPA track
  • 3+ years relevant accounting experience in a public company or public accounting environment
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and ASC 842
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley internal control frameworks

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Experience with Oracle ERP or similar systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments

Experience Level

  • 3-5 years relevant accounting experience
  • 3+ years relevant accounting experience in a public company or public accounting environment
