About the Role
Parallel is seeking a New York Licensed School Social Worker for a fully remote, part-time opportunity, approximately two days per week. This role involves providing individual social work services, supporting students with coping skills, social skills, peer interaction, social problem-solving, and executive functioning skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual social work services according to each student’s IEP.
- Support approximately 11 students, currently in grades K–6, within a Pre-K–6 school.
- Help students build coping skills, social skills, peer interaction, social problem-solving, and executive functioning skills.
- Provide 30-minute individual sessions.
- Schedule consultation time with teachers and school staff.
- Collaborate with families, educators, IEP teams, and related service providers.
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
Requirements
- Active Clinical Social Worker license (LCSW).
- Valid New York license or certification for school social work practice.
- Minimum of one year of full-time, on-site school social work experience, excluding internships.
- Experience providing counseling, social-emotional support, and behavioral interventions in a school setting.
- Experience collaborating with IEP teams and supporting measurable student goals.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Access to a private workspace, reliable computer, webcam, and high-speed internet connection.
