About the Role
As an Entry-Level Structural Bridge Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to embark on a rewarding career in the design of bridges and other transportation structures. You will be mentored by seasoned professionals and collaborate with a dynamic team to ensure the safety, durability, and functionality of our nation's critical transportation assets. This role will support our Albany or Rochester, NY offices.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation of drawings, reports, structural calculations and modeling for bridges and other transportation infrastructure
- Support the team in developing project quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
- Assist with fieldwork or site inspections as required by project needs
- Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials
- Provide support in conducting bridge load rating assessments
- Use advanced structural analysis and design software
- Perform engineering duties on projects of various complexity as directed by a senior engineer/designer
Requirements
- Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation
- Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team
- Excellent organization, and communication skills both written and verbal along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team
