About the Role
The Techline Journeyman Lineman is responsible for the installation, transmission, and distribution lines between power plans, buildings, or individual homes.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
- Dig trenches or climb poles to repair or maintain underground and overhead electrical cables.
- Provide for connecting and disconnecting, installing and removal, moving and transferring of various electrical devices on customer facilities such as transformers, transformer banks, regulators, switches, switching devices, and capacitor banks.
- Install electricity meters at residential homes and buildings.
- Perform inspections to prevent power outages by replacing or repairing components.
- Clear away tree branches or other hazards near live power installations.
- Troubleshoot power outages and issues with electrical lines and wires.
- Attend callouts and perform repairs in an efficient and timely manner.
- Report progress, complications, concerns, and delays to the supervisor.
- Adhere to safety standards and comply with company and industry regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience working in a similar or related role.
- Must have a valid Class A CDL within three (3) months of employment.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
- Adhere to company safety and health policies.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Subject to a background check; any job offer is contingent upon receipt of satisfactory background check results.
Skills
- Able to adapt to seasonal temperature changes and inclement weather.
- Able to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire, and lifting/maneuvering up to fifty (50) pounds or more without assistance.
