About the Role

Lead a dedicated team, build and nurture strong strategic partnerships across local services, and act as a key ambassador for the project within the community. Working collaboratively with schools, health services, local authorities, and voluntary sector organisations, you'll help create joined-up pathways of support that enable young people to access the right help at the right time. Champion innovative intervention approaches, and shape a service that delivers meaningful outcomes for young people affected by drugs, alcohol, and other challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and line management, regularly overseeing identified team members to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Guide and support assessments, assisting the team in evaluating the needs of children, young people, and families, creating individual and group plans, and encouraging active engagement with support.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Foster effective partnerships by identifying and collaborating with partner agencies to achieve positive service outcomes.
  • Support learning and development by recognizing training needs within the team and helping members achieve their professional development goals.
  • Lead on performance management using tools such as observed practice to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted support or action plans.
  • Collaborate with key partners, including managers from Social Care, Youth Justice Services, and other partners to enhance activity within their services.
  • Monitor budget expenditure with the Cluster Manager, including client costs, staff expenses, and operational costs.
  • Ensure governance and monitoring by working with the Service Manager to uphold governance standards and effectively utilize monitoring systems.

Requirements

  • Experience working in children and young people's services.
  • An empowering and collaborative leader.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and respond to local needs.
  • Creativity, innovation, and a commitment to inclusion.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with substance misuse issues.
  • Awareness of challenges for affected families.
  • Strong knowledge of drugs and alcohol.
  • Line management and supervision skills, including reflective supervision.
  • Leadership and team motivation abilities.
  • Comprehensive safeguarding expertise for children and young people.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with external agencies and partners.
  • Understanding of psychosocial and clinical intervention knowledge.
  • Awareness of the ‘Hidden Harm’ agenda.
  • Skilled in community outreach for delivering support and interventions.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
