About the Role
Go-Ahead London is seeking Premises Cleaners to maintain safe, hygienic, and welcoming buildings for staff and visitors. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in creating clean spaces and want to support the teams that keep London moving.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support staff across various shifts.
- Allocate daily tasks, manage priorities, and ensure completion to GAW standards.
- Conduct briefings, toolbox talks, and communicate updates to staff.
- Monitor staff attendance, performance, and shift coverage.
- Deliver on-the-job training and competency development.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and environmental procedures.
- Undertake quality inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Manage operations in Site Manager’s absence.
- Undertake additional duties as requested by line manager.
Requirements
- Experience in cleaning, transport, shunting, facilities, or operational roles.
- Experience in supervisor or team leader roles.
- Demonstrable leadership skill and knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, and operational standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Good level of fitness required for a physically demanding role.
- Flexible approach to shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Good communication and collaboration with team and garage management.
- PCV license holder or shunter trained (Desirable).
