About the Role
Amazon Shopping Video (ASV) is seeking a self-driven, enthusiastic full stack engineer with a strong product sense to design, lead, and build end-to-end video experiences for millions of customers. This role offers significant influence on the team's technical direction and engineering practices, with opportunities to innovate in areas like livestreaming, chat, advertising, and video commerce.
Responsibilities
- Build customer experiences for viewing videos and shopping.
- Lead engineers on complex projects impacting millions of customers.
- Implement modern architecture patterns, state management, and component-based design.
- Implement design systems and component libraries.
- Take ownership of projects end-to-end, including product and UX decisions.
- Optimize performance for high-frequency UI updates and complex state changes.
- Apply knowledge of accessibility standards and internationalization best practices.
- Optimize video recommendations.
- Build low-latency rendering systems and responsive, modern CX.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
