About the Role
This is an exciting 12-month fixed-term opportunity to join the Health Community Engagement team within the Talk Cancer Programme. The role is pivotal in managing Cancer Research UK's cancer awareness training programme, which equips individuals with the knowledge and confidence to discuss cancer risk reduction and early detection within their communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day management of Talk Cancer training workshops for effective delivery and evaluation.
- Represent Talk Cancer internally and externally, serving as the primary contact for partner organizations and internal teams.
- Task manage the HCE Officer and collaborate with the Senior Officer and nurse trainers for program oversight and cross-team coordination.
- Identify strategic opportunities and drive program improvements.
- Support the Senior Manager in achieving key KPIs, operational planning, and budget management.
- Oversee Talk Cancer's evaluation processes, ensuring effective reporting of program impact for internal and external use.
- Project manage the team's annual resource review, ensuring program materials are updated with current health information.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results through others.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinking ability to identify opportunities and grow program impact.
- Strong analytical skills with an understanding of evaluation and research methods for data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Demonstrated initiative and leadership to drive program improvements and effectively task manage the HCE Officer.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration.
- Interest in health promotion, cancer, and tackling health inequalities.
- Understanding of key compliance obligations, including health and safety, safeguarding, and data protection.
- Must be 18 years or older.
