About the Role
We are building the infrastructure to run an insurance business at full capacity, aiming for more policies serviced, more quotes out the door, and better margins. We are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with founders inside brokerages, learning their workflows, turning them into production agents, and feeding insights back into the core product.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship Ava, the customer-facing servicing agent, handling policyholder requests over messaging platforms and resolving them end-to-end.
- Map out real servicing flows with brokers (e.g., certificate requests, policy changes, billing questions, document collection, claims intake) and automate them with Ava.
- Embed with brokers and customers to understand current servicing processes and design agent experiences that streamline interactions.
- Integrate Ava into broker systems like Applied Epic to enable direct action completion from customer messages.
- Own the quality of the customer messaging experience and ensure successful brokerage go-lives and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 2+ years of engineering experience building products for real users.
- Strong Python skills and solid backend development understanding.
- Clear communication skills, both in-person and in writing.
- Proven ability to ship products quickly and focus on production impact.
- Experience building with LLMs and agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, LangChain), including multi-step agent workflows, tool calling, and state management.
- Interest in solving complex problems in regulated industries.
- Insurance experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
