About the Role

ProcessOS is a new Camunda product that uses natural language to describe business processes, generates executable BPMN workflows, and autonomously improves them using production data. As one of the first Forward Deployed Engineers, you will own the deployment journey from the initial process file to a fully functional, self-improving system, ensuring a successful handover to the customer's team. Your work will directly influence the future development of ProcessOS, offering a unique chance to shape a product, a function, and a field practice from its inception. You will collaborate with a global team, working across Java services and React interfaces to enhance performance and fault tolerance in real-world distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end deployment journey from first process file to a running, measurably improving production workflow.
  • Ensure at least one workflow is running, the improvement loop is active, and measurable fitness gains are visible to the customer within 90 days.
  • Achieve 3-5 customer deployments within 12 months.
  • Contribute to product development by building features, agents, and skill files based on customer interactions and fixing bugs.
  • Drive organizational adoption by working with technical and business stakeholders to establish lasting customer capability.
  • Configure Camunda clusters, debug integration failures, and build custom agents when platform defaults are insufficient.
  • Document best practices and successful patterns to streamline future deployments.
  • Train customer teams to ensure they are independent and capable of acting on improvement results post-handoff.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated enterprise production experience, including shipping and maintaining solutions within large organizations.
  • Proven ability to debug integration failures, write custom agents for legacy APIs, and set up Camunda clusters.
  • Capability to explain generated BPMN to both technical and business audiences.
  • Effective stakeholder communication skills, adapting communication style for engineering, architecture, and business leadership.
  • Practical experience using AI to solve real-world production problems, including context management, prompt engineering, agent testing, and understanding integration tradeoffs.
  • Comfort with making sound judgments in ambiguous situations and documenting learnings.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability and/or willingness to use the product.
