About the Role

This 12-month volunteer position, part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and open to individuals aged 18-30, offers the opportunity to gain experience in a non-profit organization focused on youth educational programs across Europe. The role provides insights into NGO management, fundraising, project management, and communications within a multicultural team in Berlin.

Responsibilities

  • Support in processing digital and analogue incoming and outgoing mail, as well as the central telephone line.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff, guests, and external service providers.
  • Organize meetings, appointments, and internal processes.
  • Manage office spaces, workstations, and event rooms, including inventory and order coordination.
  • Provide accounting support for preparatory accounting and filing systems, including checking and uploading receipts.
  • Maintain the contact database.
  • Onboard new colleagues to the office environment.
  • Support foundation directors with internal documentation, knowledge management, and preparation of fundraising meetings.
  • Accompany the head of administration with daily tasks.
  • Undertake other tasks depending on talents, current projects, and events.

Requirements

  • Aged 18 to 30.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Conscientious, structured, and reliable approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
  • Familiarity with digital tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
  • Previous experience in office work or volunteering is a plus, but not required.
  • High enthusiasm and motivation to get involved.

Salary/Compensations

  • Monthly pocket money allowance of 7 €/day
  • 345€ per month as food allowance
