About the Role
The Material Handler/Receiver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials within the plant, including tasks associated with inventory control for unloading, initial inspection, receiving, put away, movement, loading, and shipping.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in stopping and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Demonstrate daily continuous improvement efforts of 5S and autonomous maintenance.
- Treat quality as a key pillar of our success by always doing the right thing for our customers.
- Solve problems daily by working together as an engaged team member.
- Help in the relief of breaks as needed.
- Maintain records and documentation.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Receive and inspect materials.
- Load and unload at incoming and outbound docks.
- Put away and retrieve material.
- Deliver raw materials to production.
- Perform inventory counts as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure all information is keyed into the software system.
- Collect information for damaged claims and communicate damages per process.
- Perform other projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Accuracy in inventory management.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and other team members.
- Ability to perform basic calculations.
- Safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Prior experience using an ERP or MRP system is preferred.
- This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently lifting less than 10.
