About the Role
Odin is building the investment infrastructure for the future of private markets, aiming to make it radically easier to raise and deploy capital. Our first product is a full-stack platform for launching and running private investment firms, handling infrastructure from legal structuring to reporting and exits. We are automating a decades-old part of the financial services industry using AI and LLMs, and are looking for an AI-pilled builder to join our operations team and automate existing processes.
Responsibilities
- Own post-close and deal legals, including governance events, transfers, secondaries, distributions, and exits.
- Handle unusual legal issues where documentation doesn't provide clear answers.
- Manage all legal escalations from the operations team.
- Automate work alongside the deal operations team, potentially building simple solutions autonomously and bringing in product/design/engineering for complex needs.
- Manage external counsel, deciding what stays in-house and holding external advisers accountable for cost and turnaround.
Requirements
- Qualified with real deal legals experience in funds, corporate, or financial services.
- Ability to act as counsel on day-to-day deal legals.
- Must be able to understand every aspect of systems end-to-end.
- Must close loops, chase, and push hard to get things done.
- Must be able to look at any process and determine the simplest, most effective system to achieve the goal.
- Must find it difficult to accept inherited conventions or industry constraints without questioning.
- Must possess commercial judgment and be comfortable making autonomous decisions in a regulated environment.
- Must be willing to operate and get things done, not manage.
