About the Role
The Contracts and Settlements department enables EDF Trading to tightly control its commercial activities and process a large number of transactions with a wide variety of counterparts. This role is responsible for the invoicing and settlement of physical and financial products across multiple commodities, requiring efficient, timely, and accurate processing and the ability to handle queries from customers.
Responsibilities
- Invoice all standard physical OTC trades in the invoicing system within contractual timelines.
- Verify inbound counterparty invoices and netting statements.
- Process netting statements for physical and financial OTC settlements.
- Follow up on invoicing differences with counterparts in line with established procedures.
- Liaise with relevant Back Office teams regarding late or misallocated payments from counterparts.
- Handle brokerage settlement.
- Handle FX settlement.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an Operations function within the Financial sector.
- Proven track record of performing time-critical operations.
- Self-starter with a logical thought process and ability to learn quickly.
- Proactive with strong initiative.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Numerate with strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high standards of accuracy.
- Team player confident in building strong working relationships.
- Ability to follow procedures, identify problems, and follow up on resolution.
- Fluent in English with clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Motivated by daily operational processes and the opportunity to develop and refine them, reducing risk and improving efficiency.
