About the Role

The Employer Engagement (EE) Consultant cultivates and manages strategic relationships with employers who recruit Cornell Duffield Engineering students. This role advises employer partners on effective, inclusive recruitment strategies, identifies and targets prospective employers, conducts outreach, and deepens employer engagement. The EE Consultant utilizes the university’s career services CRM to coordinate and track employer interactions, aiming to increase job posting, recruitment, and hiring activity for the university's students and graduates.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with employers.
  • Advise employer partners on effective, inclusive recruitment strategies.
  • Identify and target prospective employers in engineering and technical sectors.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to expand Cornell’s employer base.
  • Deepen employer engagement.
  • Utilize the university’s career services CRM to coordinate and track employer interactions.
  • Build partnerships with academic departments and student organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2-4 years of experience in business development, sales, career services, recruitment/HR, or other industry experience.
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including experience maintaining positive relationships with various constituencies.
  • Excellent customer-service and communications skills.
  • Experience with and enthusiasm for collaborating with various stakeholders in a professional setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, as a member of a team, under pressure, and in a complex environment.
  • Proficient in computer software and web application skills.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office programs, Internet, web site development, and email.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work is required.
  • No relocation assistance is available.
