About the Role

The Ombuds Office Program Coordinator manages Social Adult Day Care (SADC) registration and related payments, ensuring the safety and well-being of older adults in New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Answer questions from SADCs regarding registration and technical issues.
  • Track new SADC registration requests and guide applicants through the process.
  • Register payments received and manage revenue records, including reconciling financial reports.
  • Unlock/relock SADC accounts after payments clear.
  • Notify SADCs when their registration records are unlocked after payment confirmation.
  • Monitor payment systems and inform SADCs of declined payments.
  • Review and maintain records of registration changes.
  • Answer and direct calls received on the Office telephone line.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports on registered SADCs, complaints, revenue, and registration.
  • Conduct field visits to SADCs to verify registration information or serve summonses.
  • Work alternative shifts for field visits as needed.
  • Monitor the Ombuds Office inquiry email box.
  • Perform related and special duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities related to the duties described.
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities related to the duties described.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience to the above, with at least one year of experience as described in the first point.
