About the Role
Forward Deployed Software Engineers work directly on transforming how Beacon operates by embedding with internal business units to identify operational bottlenecks and ship agentic software into core firm workflows. This high-impact, hands-on role involves deploying agentic AI tools to automate, accelerate, and scale internal processes, with the goal of compressing complex internal domain knowledge into scalable, automated workflows that increase firm efficiency. This is not a traditional corporate engineering position; production code is shipped from day one.
Responsibilities
- Embed with internal business units to understand team functions, manual work, and automation opportunities.
- Identify core leverage points in workflows like financial reporting, contract review, deal sourcing, and document parsing.
- Build and deploy agentic tools, including integrations, prompts, evaluations, and user interfaces.
- Monitor system performance, gather feedback, refine prompts, and tune autonomy parameters.
- Document architecture and deployment patterns for core engineering teams.
- Serve as the technical bridge between engineering and internal business teams, ensuring smooth adoption.
Requirements
- 1-4 years of full-time software engineering experience.
- Strong fluency in Python, TypeScript, or Go.
- Product-minded and inquisitive, enjoying direct work with end-users to solve business problems with code.
- High autonomy and proactive execution, thriving in ambiguous environments and taking ownership from concept to deployment.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, including projects using LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or agentic frameworks.
- Curiosity about business operations in finance, legal, and M&A at a tech-focused capital allocation firm.
- Clear communication skills, able to explain technical choices to non-technical partners.
