About the Role
Join our team and help shape the future of urban agriculture. We are looking for support for our production team at our rooftop farm in Berlin-Lankwitz. Our production is largely automated, so you will primarily work with our production, harvesting, and packaging machines, monitoring technical processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate, feed, and monitor our production, harvesting, and packaging machines
- Participate in all largely automated production steps, from sowing and cultivation to harvesting and packaging
- Control machines and production processes, identify and report malfunctions
- Resolve minor malfunctions after appropriate training
- Operate and monitor our hydroponic cultivation and irrigation systems
- Perform quality controls during the ongoing production process
- Monitor plant stocks in the greenhouse; traditional cultivation and care tasks are minimal
- Clean and maintain machines, production areas, tools, and cultivation systems
- Adhere to our hygiene, quality, and food safety standards
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our production processes
Requirements
- Ideally, experience in a production environment, food processing, horticulture, or a comparable work setting
- A completed apprenticeship in horticulture or a technical/food processing profession is advantageous, but not a prerequisite
- Motivated and dedicated career changers are also welcome
- Interest in machines, technical processes, and modern, automated plant production
- Technical understanding and willingness to learn how to operate our machines and systems
- Structured, careful, and independent work style with a good eye for detail
- Reliability, sense of responsibility, and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work on Saturdays and occasional Sundays (approximately once a month)
- German language skills are desirable, but not mandatory if you have English skills at least at B2 level

- Die Frisch vom Dach GmbH, a subsidiary of ECF Farmsystems GmbH, operates a modern hydroponic farm on the roof of a REWE market in Berlin-Lankwitz.
- We produce fresh Lankwitz lettuce directly for the region.
- Our farm system enables resource-efficient and effective food production in the city center.
- Direct integration with REWE logistics ensures particularly short transport routes, delivering our lettuce fresh from the roof to the markets in the capital region.
