This position is ideal for an experienced data scientist who wants to lead production projects, select modeling approaches, and act as a client-facing modeling expert.

Responsibilities

  • Independently select and apply appropriate modeling methods within the company's suite.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest industry methodologies.
  • Independently resolve bugs and queries, including in unfamiliar parts of the codebase.
  • Utilize AI to solve coding tickets quickly, unblock dependencies, and build automation workflows.
  • Work with QA properly, using automated tooling efficiently and flagging gaps.
  • Communicate confidently and independently with clients and colleagues as a modeling expert.
  • Assist in the development of junior colleagues through code review, methodology critique, and hands-on support.
  • Break down tickets and support more junior team members.

Requirements

  • Solid commercial data science experience, typically 3-5 years, with a track record of shipping models into production.
  • Strong ML knowledge across multiple algorithm families and the judgment to select the appropriate approach.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, with the ability to lead on production-level code and set standards.
  • Ability to debug and resolve issues independently across unfamiliar repositories.
  • Strong AI fluency, including using AI for quick ticket resolution, unblocking dependencies, and building automation workflows.
  • Confident, independent communication with clients and stakeholders as the technical authority.
  • Emerging mentorship abilities, ready to develop junior colleagues.
  • Initiative in accepting and planning own work.
