About the Role
As a Volunteer Mentor in the Opiate Team, you will provide one-to-one support to individuals facing drug and alcohol problems, specifically opiate dependence. You will also assist the team with administrative tasks. This role offers valuable experience, comprehensive training, and ongoing support from a dedicated supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Offer one-to-one support to people who use our services.
- Support the team with administrative tasks.
- Engage in flexible, curious, and attentive interactions with service users.
- Participate in regular supervision meetings.
- Undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.
Requirements
- Lived experience of substance use, preferably opiate use and opiate substitute treatment.
- Ability to be flexible, curious, and a good listener.
