About the Role
The Protective Security Officer role is responsible for providing services that help the Bank to be safer and stronger both within and beyond the perimeter of Bank locations. Their focus is primarily on supporting the delivery of the travel security, access control, and other duties that enhance the personal safety of our colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all BAU activities and answer queries from stakeholders, liaising with other Security Staff and Security Network technical support.
- Accurately create and remove security photo passes/users profiles and credentials, controlling access using C-cure and Morpho Manager systems.
- Provision and cater capability to cards for new employees using the Systopia system.
- Control access to privileged areas upon request from listed authorisers using the c-cure system.
- Produce data reports from systems on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc basis.
- Create and maintain team documentation to accurately reflect activities.
- Identify and suggest enhancements in processes and technologies.
- Perform System Administrator duties, including adding/deleting users and system housekeeping.
- Assist internal/external audit and compliance with audits/investigations.
- Provide Technical Security Administration, including C-Cure administration (creating Door groups, programming clearances) and supporting Technical Security Sweeps.
- Monitor and respond to basic travel security requests and queries, maintaining accurate information and updating travel security systems.
- Escalate complex/high-risk travel security actions to a senior officer.
- Support pre and post travel and event briefings, with complex/higher risk activity led by a senior officer.
- Monitor the threat inbox, conduct initial investigations/enquiries, triage actions, and organize case conferences.
- Support the review of visitors attending Bank events to identify possible risks through OSINT and Bank information.
- Support vetting functions by processing Biennial checks and potentially CIFAS and OSINT screening.
Requirements
- Previous and recent experience in a security or investigations role.
- Ability to follow security processes accurately and consistently.
- Ability to make risk-based security recommendations.
- Ability to identify when an issue needs escalation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to process and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to respond to stakeholder queries professionally.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Ability to work reliably under pressure with limited supervision.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills focused on identifying relevant information, triaging issues, and applying operating procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders and adapt approach appropriately.
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks, meet deadlines, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Proven track record of building effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
