About the Role
Welocalize is seeking a native-level Hindi (Romanized) speaker for a confidential AI and consumer technology program. This hands-on, on-site role involves evaluating a pre-release AI model and testing product performance on a smartphone and smart glasses. Your feedback will directly influence the product's quality before its public release.
Responsibilities
- Review AI model output in Hindi (Romanized) for accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and overall quality, including fact-checking against source material.
- Test the Hindi (Romanized) user experience against the English version, confirming feature parity and completing user journeys.
- Verify correct handling of non-Latin scripts, diacritics, right-to-left text, and mixed-language input.
- Identify and report display issues (e.g., text cut-off, rendering problems) and localization errors (e.g., incorrect dates, numbers, currencies, untranslated strings).
- Document issues clearly for developers, including steps to reproduce, device, OS, locale, build ID, and supporting evidence.
- Retest issues after fixes are implemented to confirm resolution.
- Provide native-level speaker insights on navigation, usability, and language-specific nuances.
- Work on-site in a secure office area due to the confidential nature of the pre-release technology.
- Support other linguistic projects as needed.
Requirements
- Native-level or fully bilingual Hindi (Romanized), written and spoken, with a current understanding of everyday and technical language usage.
- Proficiency with smartphones and laptops, comfortable switching between iOS and Android.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to provide fair, objective quality assessments.
- Ability to work independently, follow detailed test scripts and guidelines, and clearly explain issues in English.
- Previous experience in software/app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation is a strong plus but not essential if language skills and attention to detail are present.
