About the Role
Welocalize is seeking a native-level Tagalog speaker for a confidential, large-scale AI and consumer technology program. This hands-on, on-site role involves evaluating a pre-release AI model and testing product performance on a smartphone and smart glasses. Your feedback will directly shape the technology before its public release.
Responsibilities
- Review AI model output in Tagalog for accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and quality, fact-checking against source material.
- Test the Tagalog user experience against the English version, confirming feature parity and user journey completion.
- Verify correct handling of non-Latin script, diacritics, right-to-left text, and mixed-language input.
- Identify and report display issues such as text cutoff, overflow, or rendering problems.
- Report localization errors including incorrect dates, numbers, currencies, units, or untranslated strings.
- Clearly document issues with steps taken, device, OS, locale, build ID, and supporting evidence.
- Retest issues after fixes are implemented to confirm resolution.
- Provide linguistic feedback on navigation, usability, and language-specific nuances.
- Work on-site in a secure area of the Welocalize office.
- Support other linguistic projects as needed.
Requirements
- Native-level or fully bilingual Tagalog, written and spoken, with a current understanding of everyday and technical language usage.
- Proficiency with smartphones and laptops, comfortable switching between iOS and Android.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to provide fair, objective quality assessments.
- Ability to work independently, follow detailed test scripts and guidelines.
- Capacity to clearly explain issues in English.
- Previous experience in software/app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation is a strong plus.
