About the Role
Welocalize is seeking a native-level Hindi speaker for a confidential, large-scale AI and consumer technology program. This hands-on, on-site role involves evaluating a pre-release AI model and testing product performance on a smartphone and smart glasses. Your judgment will shape the technology's Hindi version before its public release.
Responsibilities
- Review pre-release AI model output in Hindi for accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and overall quality, including fact-checking against source material.
- Test the Hindi user experience against the English version, confirming feature parity and completing user journeys with non-English input.
- Verify correct handling of non-Latin script, diacritics, right-to-left text, and mixed-language input.
- Identify and report display issues (e.g., text cut-off, overflow, rendering problems) and localization errors (e.g., incorrect dates, numbers, currencies, units, untranslated strings).
- Clearly document issues, including steps taken, device/OS, locale, build ID, and supporting evidence, and re-test fixes.
- Provide feedback on navigation, usability, and language-specific nuances from a native speaker's perspective.
- Work on-site in a private, secure area of the Welocalize office.
- Support other linguistic projects as needed.
Requirements
- Native-level or fully bilingual Hindi, written and spoken, with a current understanding of everyday and technical language usage.
- Proficiency with smartphones and laptops, comfortable switching between iOS and Android.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to make fair, objective quality assessments.
- Ability to work independently, follow detailed test scripts and guidelines, and clearly explain issues in English.
- Previous experience in software/app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation is a strong plus but not essential.
- Interest in how language and technology intersect.
