About the Role
Provide commercially focused legal advice across Lendi Group's diverse and evolving business, reporting to the General Counsel. Partner closely with senior leaders and teams to navigate complex legal matters, manage risk, and support new initiatives in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused advice to senior leaders and teams.
- Support strategic initiatives, including new products, projects, acquisitions, and regulatory change.
- Advise on the design and governance of AI-enabled tools and processes, covering legal, regulatory, contractual, privacy, and ethical considerations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
- Advise on consumer credit, AML/CTF, competition and consumer law, franchising, real estate licensing, corporate, employment, intellectual property, and related regulatory matters.
- Provide legal guidance on complex customer complaints and support engagement with regulators, government agencies, and industry bodies.
- Advise on privacy, confidentiality, and the appropriate management and use of customer information.
- Improve the Legal team's processes, templates, and tools for efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee external legal providers, managing scope, quality, and budget, while identifying cost-reduction opportunities.
Requirements
- 6+ years of legal experience, ideally in financial services, lending, fintech, technology, or another highly regulated environment.
- A law degree and current practising certificate.
- Strong commercial judgment with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical advice.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements.
- Ability to proactively identify and manage legal and regulatory risks while supporting commercial objectives.
- Confidence advising and influencing senior stakeholders on complex or sensitive matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- High levels of judgement, confidentiality, and organisational discipline.
- A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
