About the Role
Guidewire Professional Services organization includes business analysts, functional consultants, and technical integration consultants who help customers and SI vendors implement Guidewire applications. Projects are complex and can last from three months to two years. The team identifies customer business requirements, leverages OOTB capabilities with configuration for solutions, and integrates the Guidewire application with other systems. Consultants spend the majority of their time on-site with customer business and technical teams. This is primarily a Japan-based role but may involve opportunities in other Guidewire operating regions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with Japanese customers in Japanese to understand their business goals, technical requirements, and project objectives.
- Lead workshops to gather requirements, identify challenges, and propose solutions based on best practices.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configurations.
- Advise customers on adopting Guidewire’s best practices to optimize their business processes.
- Configure Guidewire applications to meet customer requirements while ensuring alignment with their workflows.
- Build strong relationships with customers by aligning Guidewire solutions with their specific business needs.
- Perform Proof of Concept (PoC) activities to validate proposed solutions and demonstrate their feasibility.
- Document configurations, functional designs, and integration processes for effective knowledge sharing.
- Work with Guidewire product management to share configuration concepts and further develop core product functionality.
Requirements
- If Japanese is a second language, JLPT 1 level proficiency and practical knowledge of Japan's business environment with proven building skills.
- If English is a second language, TOEIC score of 700+ or equivalent fluency; ability to read and write materials in English and communicate internally in English.
- Over 7 years of combined experience in software development and consulting, with no less than 3 years.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, with a flexible and proactive work ethic.
- Experience working in small teams and Agile development environments.
- Advanced web application development expertise.
- 2+ years of Object-Oriented Programming experience.
- 2+ years of experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
- Ability to learn new products and business domains quickly.
- Proven ability to lead customer discussions and navigate complex situations.
- Full development lifecycle experience, from data modeling to UI/UX design.
