About the Role
This position requires a high level of direct interaction with business users, excellent presentation, clear and concise communication and delivery skills. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Direct interaction and support of Traders, Trade Co-Ordinators, Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts, including troubleshooting, fixing, and escalating issues in a timely manner that impact the desks.
- Experience working in an application support team in a busy front office environment.
- Champion the needs of the business stakeholders, act as their fiduciary and build trusted relationships.
- Provide timely and accurate status reporting/ issue tracking and communication within IT/Business Parteners.
- Adherence to SOC1 requirements, Incident/Problem Management process and documentation, including follow through using ITIL framework.
- Managing production incidents to ensure appropriate escalation and assist in determining root cause and preventative measure.
- Develop a strong partnership with the delivery team to ensure on time, scalable and high quality business solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an application support team/environment in the financial services industry
- Experience supporting Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts working directly in a trade floor environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
- Self-motivated, quick learner and willing to work in an energetic, fast paced team environment.
- Experience in Financial Services & Trading Systems systems is required
- Understanding of financial instruments such as stocks, bonds, swaps, options, futures, forwards, derivatives, and FX.
- Experience with advanced investment data concepts such as holdings, transactions, security master, analytics, and performance.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of investors workflows in areas of research/valuation, analysis and portfolio construction
- Hands-on knowledge of SQL and the ability to extract and analyse data to troubleshoot and fix issues.
- Experience supporting critical production applications
- Experience in using AI tools such as Claude/GitHub Co-Pilot is advantageous
- CFA Institute Claritas Certificate, CFA Charter or progress towards one considered an asset
