About the Role

As the first dedicated Talent Partner, you will play a key early role in Reasonable's growth, working closely with founders and the Head of Operations. Your primary responsibility is to manage the end-to-end hiring process, focusing on technical roles such as formal verification, machine learning, and software engineering. This involves sourcing, pipeline building, screening, assessment, interview process management, and offer negotiation. A significant part of the role includes representing the company's mission to candidates and evolving current recruiting practices. You will define sourcing strategies, screening methods, and the overall candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-cycle hiring for technical and business roles, including intake, sourcing, screening, process management, offer, and close.
  • Build the early-career pipeline by establishing relationships with university groups and supervisors in PL/FM/ML, developing intern and graduate programs, and increasing presence at relevant conferences and communities.
  • Headhunt senior formal-methods and ML talent from industry, assisting founders in market mapping, leveraging existing relationships, and persuading passive candidates to consider Reasonable.
  • Design and execute a structured hiring process, including interview loops, scorecards, and interviewer calibration, to ensure consistent hiring as the team grows.
  • Manage the end-to-end candidate experience, ensuring it is fast, respectful, transparent, and accurately represents the company.
  • Track key funnel metrics such as pipeline health, conversion rates, time-to-hire, and source of hire to inform hiring decisions.
  • Utilize AI tools creatively and aggressively across sourcing, outreach, screening, and scheduling.
  • Set up and manage recruiting tools, including the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), sourcing tools, and referral program, to ensure scalability.

Requirements

  • Proven full-cycle recruiting experience with direct exposure to technical/engineering hiring, ideally within an early-stage or scaling deep-tech startup.
  • Comfortable managing hiring at both early-career (interns, graduates, PhDs) and senior levels, including passive and hard-to-reach technical candidates.
  • Proactive sourcing skills and an active network are valued over a large passive network.
  • Ability to operate in a high-velocity environment and build processes from scratch.
  • Strong candidate communication skills, capable of representing a technical mission credibly and simply.
  • Familiarity with lightweight ATS tools (e.g., Workable) and outbound sourcing tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, JuiceBox, Gem).
  • Comfort advising management on hiring plans and interview process design.
  • Sufficient technical fluency, or a strong willingness to acquire it quickly, to credibly evaluate and engage engineering/research candidates.
  • Based in Budapest or the UK (London/Cambridge) with the ability to travel between locations.
