About the Role
In this role, you will be part of the Corporate Client Group – Finance (CCGF) team, which acts as mid-market Corporate Banking for RBC’s Canadian Banking business unit. This team plays a key role in realizing CCG objectives through structuring, delivery, and management of bank debt for a targeted customer base, focusing on loan origination in the Canadian mid-market.
Responsibilities
- Support CCG bankers to structure, deliver, close, and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral loan transactions.
- Assist with preparation of marketing pitches for corporate loans (acquisition loans, bridge loans, term loans, revolving credit facilities).
- Support CCGF team credit submissions, including research, analysis, financial modelling, and due diligence.
- Support CCGF team with transaction documentation and coordination with clients and legal counsel.
- Assist with loan portfolio management, client strategies, and related administrative duties.
- Engage with RBC partners and functions including Group Risk Management, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Treasury Management, Specialized Financing, Personal Banking, and others.
- Liaise with back office functions connected to closing and funding, wires, payments, settlements, etc.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in business, economics, accounting, or finance with basic knowledge of credit, credit metrics, and credit structuring.
- Strong quantitative, financial modeling, and analytical skills with an ability to analyze company financial statements.
- Strong skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the ability to source data/research.
- Capability to work through loan agreements and other legal documents with minimal supervision and high attention to detail.
- Professional oral and written communication skills.
- Well organized and able to set priorities, devote appropriate attention to each assignment, perform well under pressure, meet time-sensitive deadlines, and prioritize work.
- Ability to work on multiple projects.
- Ability to commit to over and above regular work hours.
