About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead our platform capabilities, which are essential for the development and success of all products within the company. This role involves understanding internal customer needs, setting strategy and roadmaps, and managing migrations to ensure other teams can ship faster and more efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Set the strategy and roadmap for platform capabilities, including identity and access, customer identification services, and the engineering platform.
- Own and manage migrations, ensuring successful transitions to new versions of platform components.
- Partner with Architecture, Product Engineering, and Product leads on Loans, FlexiPay, and Cards to ensure aligned roadmaps.
- Conduct regular discovery with other functions to understand their needs and plan future development.
- Manage change management processes to ensure adoption of platform capabilities.
- Measure success based on the speed of shipping for dependent teams, their ability to solve problems independently, and the completion of migrations.
Requirements
- Experience owning a product or capability that required earning adoption from other teams, rather than mandating it.
- Sufficient technical depth to engage in discussions with engineers about trade-offs, interfaces, and migration costs.
- Ability to effectively engage with and understand the needs of internal stakeholders in Risk, Operations, and Sales, even without direct authority.
- Experience designing and building with AI tools like Claude Code or Codex.
- Ability to write and present clearly to gain alignment from Architecture, Engineering, and Product leadership on roadmaps.
- Experience working in fintech or another regulated business with operational complexity.
- Experience managing migrations off systems that users were attached to.
- Strong understanding of the complexities of a regulated business, treating auditability and data protection as design constraints.
